On September 19, 1977, Wimber L. Clark and Mary Ann Clark founded Air Dallas Instruments.

Wimber had joined the Navy in 1946 at the young age of 17. He received his Navy training on instrumentation and aircraft wiring. During this time, Wimber began to realize his true passion and ambition. After he got out of the Navy, Wimber continued to work in the aviation and instrumentation field with various shops in the Houston, TX area. In 1964, he was hired by an instrument shop in Dallas, Texas. 

Wimber, along with his wife, Mary Ann and their three daughters, moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where he continued to work and build a solid reputation in the industry. His growth continued as a shop supervisor for such companies as Omni Air, Aerosonic Corporation (based in Addison, Texas), and other facilities in the Dallas area.

In 1977, Wimber’s dream came true when he was able to open his own repair facility along with his wife, Mary Ann. The following years brought more growth opportunities for both family and employees of Air Dallas Instruments. Wimber passed away on April 2, 1989, leaving his wife, Mary Ann, along with family members, to continue running the company. 

Mary Ann was President of Air Dallas Instruments for 18 years and made the family proud. Mary Ann passed away on October 1, 2007.

The next generation began. With over 40 years of experience Danny Barnfield transitioned from Shop Supervisor to President in 2018. Together he and his wife, Cathy own the company. Air Dallas remains family owned.
